STOCKHOLM, October 2, 2017 — Multigrid, a Stockholm-based start-up specializing in infrastructure for green hyperscale computing, today announced that it has appointed a new board of directors in preparation of its expansion. The company has raised US$ 1.4 million [11.7 MSEK] from angel investors to fuel the launch of its forthcoming data centers in Stockholm.
With Multigrid´s forthcoming wholesale data centers in Stockholm, users will have access to city-located, highly efficient and sustainable data centers that are optimized for providers of IT-as-a-service, including IaaS, PaaS and SaaS, for a domestic as well as an international market.

Joining the co-founders, Dr Ganslandt and Mr Bergquist, on the Multigrid board of directors are Mr Rikard Azelius and Mr Krister Nilsson. Mr Azelius is a recognized business lawyer and managing partner of Vinge, with more than 25 years of experience of giving business advice. Mr Nilsson is a knowledgeable entrepreneur with experience from various parts of the technology industry.

About the Multigrid Board of Directors 2017/2018
Mattias Ganslandt (1970) is a PhD in industrial organization from Lund University where he is affiliated as associate professor since 2006. Dr Ganslandt is the CEO and Chairman of Multigrid Data Centers which he co-founded in January 2017 with Mr Gustav Bergquist. Prior to founding Multigrid he was Chief Business Developer of Fortum Varme in Stockholm 2015-2016, director of Center for European Law and Economics (CELEC) 2008-2015, visiting professor at the University of Colorado 2007 and research program director at The Research Institute of Industrial Economics 2000-2006.
Rikard Azelius (1961) is the Managing Partner of Swedish law firm Vinge in Skåne since 2008. Mr Azelius has experience and knowledge of M&A, private equity and general corporate matters from a wide range of industries. He has provided companies and their owners with business law advice for 25 years. Mr Azelius holds a double degree in law and business administration from Lund University.
Gustav Bergquist (1980) is the Chief Operating Officer and Executive Vice President of Multigrid Data Centers. Gustav has lead full scale heat recovery projects from Data Centers and frequently attends Data Center conferences as a panelist and keynote speaker. He has a Master in Business Administration and Economics from the University of Stockholm. Bergquist was previously part of the Executive Management at Swedish Data Center Operator and Internet Service Provider Bahnhof, where he pioneered data center heat recovery in his role as CTO.
Krister Nilsson (1966) is a Stockholm-based entrepreneur and investor. Mr Nilsson has extensive experience from technology companies and technology start-ups. He currently sits on several boards and acts as advisor to the executive management of a handful of technology companies. Prior to his work as board professional and entrepreneur, Mr Nilsson worked in several leading positions for Telia Company from 2012-2016. Mr Nilsson was Chief Operating Officer of Spotify at the time of the official launch of Spotify in August 2008. A position he held until March 2010.
